President's Message

Jamshaid Iqbal

It is with immense pleasure that I am writing this message as the President of Rabita Welfare Organization, Layyah.  In this message I want to highlights the organization’s commitments for its objectives. RWO was started by the group of enthusiastic volunteers who wanted to bring changes in the lives of deprived and suffering communities. It gained registration with the Social Welfare Department of Punjab, Pakistan in 2009 and has been serving the people with great devotions. Environment, Social mobilization and communities awareness programs are priority areas of RWO.

We are also struggling for social mobilization. Social Mobilization, as defined by UNICEF, is a broad scale movement to engage people’s participation in achieving a specific development goal through self-reliant efforts. It involves all relevant segments of society: decision and policy makers, opinion leaders, bureaucrats and technocrats, professional groups, religious associations, commerce and industry, communities and individuals.

RWO arranged social mobilization activities at different times and locations. These included the activity to aware the village women about the importance of Computerized National Identity Card and bringing them to NADRA wan for its processing. By these efforts many women were able to get their CNIC. We mobilized the local health authorities to provide the missing facilities at Thal Hospital Layyah and to provide the best health facilities to the patients.

RWO is still working as regional organization. It believes that it is in need to be more focused, want to develop knowledge and share with others its experience, findings and aspiration. On the other hand we will always seek to learn from and cooperate with others for continuous improvement to serve the community better. Thus, we welcome any co-operation and collaborative participant of any parties and NGOs nationally and internationally in our current activities and future programs.

We welcome and appreciate very much any constructive comments, guidance, and assistance to us in our common development goal to assist the less developed communities and contribute to mankind.
